HOW DO YOU TRACK THROUGHPUT?

Track Starts, Stops, and Speed.

The idea is so deceptively simple – ODO is a small internet enabled device that is mounted to a machine or production line. Its inexpensive sensor measures the activity of the machine or line, and spends its day recording stops, starts and speed (throughput).  That’s it.  Each start and stop defines a “run segment”.   This data is reported to the ODO dashboard website, where it is continuously updated and summarized for use by managers and supervisors – every 20-seconds – all in real-time.

ODO DASHBOARD
REAL-TIME STATUS OF ALL YOUR EQUIPMENT ON ONE UNIFIED DATA STREAM

Tracking data for every machine is summarized in the ODO dashboard.  At every moment of the day, for each machine, the user can see:

√  Running or Stopped.  Time since last start or stop.  Current speed.

√  Uptime today vs Elapsed time.   Running hours today vs. elapsed and percentage of uptime.

√  Throughput today.   This can be footage, cycles, gallons processed — you choose the unit of measurement.

Eliminate Data Paralysis

This is what all manufacturing managers want:  actionable data available as the day is unfolding that is NOT dependent on Operator input — it is recorded automatically.  Data from your deployed ODOs will spur you to pick up the phone or get out on the floor — something needs to be fixed!

Imagine, all machines and lines — with radically different designs and functions, in multiple buildings or cities — all available in one unified dashboard.   The whole operation at a glance!

DESIGNED BY USERS FOR USERS

Although the ODO was built by world-class software and hardware engineers, it was designed by users to work in the “real” manufacturing world.  When you PickODO, we recognize the limitation of data collected by operators.   Operators are under pressure to perform, and every minute spent collecting data in any format, is time taken away from production.  And let’s be real:  manual data collection on the shop floor can never be fully accurate, when an operator has to integrate data collection in with all their other duties.

The ODO doesn’t depend on operator input.  Although operator id’s, job numbers and other useful data can be captured into the data stream, the core function --- tracking starts, stops and speed --- happens automatically – with no operator involvement.

WORKS ON ANY MACHINE OR LINE.

No complicated integration.

The ODO doesn’t care whether you are running an injection molding press, a filling line or a loom.

It doesn’t matter if your equipment goes round and round, back and forth, or up and down.  It doesn’t matter whether you measure throughput in units, footage, gallons or widgets.

When you PickODO you'll see the measures of raw cycles or revolutions because ODO translates them into the units that are meaningful to you.  It is designed to be a universal tool for any and all manufacturers.

DETAILED HISTORY – TIGHTEN THE FEEDBACK LOOP

Select any one device and drill into the details of the day.  See the start time, stop time, and speed for every run segment, as well as the idle time between segments.  It’s the detailed pattern that helps reveal the ‘true’ performance over time.  If throughput is disappointing, it is either due to excessive downtime or poor run rates.  The history is the perfect tool to help diagnose the problem.  By adding commentary throughout the day, floor supervisors and operators can publicize the issues that affect production.

When you PickODO, it allows the entire team to focus on setting goals and making improvements, which leads to better performance.

TRACK ACTIVITY FOR EVERY SHIFT IN EVERY LOCATION.

Are you running Saturday in the Charlotte, NC plant?  Or Guadalajara, Mexico?  Or Frankfurt, Germany? No problem.  Your ODO dashboard shows a fully integrated view of what is running in every location, 24/7.

This is the tool that allows the entire team to focus on setting  goals and making improvements that lead to better performance.

And of course, summary and detail data can be downloaded for analysis and internal reporting.

The World

DESIGNED AND PRICED FOR ENTERPRISE-WIDE DEPLOYMENT.

Unlike other solutions, when you PickODO, it is priced to be deployed on every line or machine operating in the company.  The ODO is priced at $300, plus $100 per year for access to the ODO dashboard.

The ODO operates independently of enterprise data platforms, like SAP.  It is independent from any internal software found on various types of equipment.  Since it operates independently, it is easy to deploy and does not require integration with other tools.
